Ghana has just confirmed two cases of the dreaded coronavirus disease.
The Health Minister, Keaku Agyemang-Manu made this known at an emergency press briefing organised by the Ministry of Information on Thursday night [March 12, 2020].
The two cases were confirmed after laboratory tests at the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research.
After so many tests on different people, all of which proved negative, these are the first cases of the disease in Ghana.
The coronavirus disease occurred for the very first time in China. This was in December, 2019. It soon spread across the globe like a wild fire.
At the moment, the disease has been recorded on every continent. Also, many countries have already had the outbreak. But for Ghana, these are the very first two cases recorded in the country.
