A food vendor from Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria, has reportedly been burned alive for allegedly using water from the mortuary to prepare food for her numerous customers.

Reports say she was actually burned to ashes.

According to Pulse.com.gh,
‘Mama Aroma,’ as the food vendor was popularly nicknamed, prepared very delicious meals that she sold to her customers, who, in return, would usually come back to her for more food.

It further says that, “Before her alleged death, the food vendor reportedly sold her Banga rice on a truck in the market where people form long queues to patronise her services.”

Unknown to these customers, however, Mama Aroma usually used the water that had been used to wash dead bodies at the mortuary. Unlucky for the woman, her secret was soon discovered, leading to her gruesome death.

According to reports, a mortuary worker who had been seeing Mama Aroma come to the mortuary every night to fetch water that had resulted from washing the dead bodies, decided to trail her one night to see what she did with the dirty water.

After trailing her to her food joint and realising what she used the water for, the mortuary worker reportedly raised an alarm that led to the instant lynching of Mama Aroma.

She was subsequently set ablaze by some residents who had consumed her food before.
