The Omanhen of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, has told Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang the he danced ‘bugaloo’ when news of her nomination as the running mate to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer got to him.
Conceding that he did not know how to dance to the Afro-American dance, he said he danced nonetheless to celebrate her.
“I don’t know how to dance ‘bugaloo’ but that day I danced ‘bugaloo’ in my room,” Omanhen Osabarima said to a rapturous laughter from the NDC team at his palace to pay him a coutesy call.
Among the delegation which was led by Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang, were North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Deputy Campaign Manager, Mr Alex Segbefia, and the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr E K T Addo.
Interacting with the entourage, the Omanhen advised Professor Opoku Agyemang to do decent campaigning devoid of insults and acrimony.
“Don’t respond to everything you hear, listen to all but you must not let insults and acrimonious language be part of your politics,” Ghanaweb quotes him as advising Prof Opoku Agyemang.
According to the report, the Omanhen said politics in Ghana is full of insults and acrimony and would take a great deal of effort to be decent.
“The responsibility is huge and the nature of people, particularly in politics, is different,” he said.
