Yvonne Nelson, a popular Ghanaian actor and celebrity, is very angry with the government of president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This is because she was made to sleep without power in this hot season.
But she is particularly worried that the government would preside over such a situation at the moment when the country has been plagued by the deadly coronavirus disease.
Taking to her Facebook page, the mother of one lashed out at the government of Ghana amidst sighs.
She said “our leaders have failed us so much,” and warned that no fan of hers should carry their partisan or tribal flags anywhere near her post, making it clear that such partisan and tribal guys are the problem of the nation.
Yvonne Nelson also made it clear she would block any such partisan or tribal guys that would pop up on her post to do their usual tribal and partisan politicking.
The post came along with a screenshot of a quote marked “Forbes”. The quote reads, “show me the heroes the youth of your country look up to, and I’ll tell you the future of your country.”
Yvonne Nelson led what became known as the dumsor vigil under the previous regime when the power crisis was unbearable. The candlelight vigil attracted a lot of celebrities and patrons at the time.
Consequently, the government of president John Dramani Mahama managed to stabilise the power situation in the country. Also, when the current government of president Akufo-Addo took over, they made it clear to Ghanaians that they have stabilised the power situation. But from time to time, power cuts are still experienced in the country, leading many to wonder if the government is honest in confronting the power problem.
